Position: Talend Senior ETL Lead Developer
Duration: 12 months
Location: HYBRID (Tue/Wed onsite - Back Bay area, Boston)


Position Summary:


The client is seeking a talented Talend Senior ETL Lead Developer to spearhead the development efforts of transitioning an existing ETL system to Talend ETL technology over the course of approximately one year. This role requires the candidate to take a leadership role in overseeing the entire lifecycle of this Talend project, from initiation to completion, and all tasks in between.


Responsibilities:



  • Utilize the Talend ETL toolset to create new and maintain existing ETL jobs.

  • Design and implement ETL processes for extracting and transforming data from diverse sources, including Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server databases.

  • Design and develop necessary database tables and constraints as per project requirements.

  • Collaborate with team members to understand source system structures, data retrieval methods/techniques, and organizational tools.

  • Support the development of data transformation logic using ETL tools or scripting languages like SQL, Bash, Python, etc.

  • Clean, validate, and transform data to align with target schema and quality standards.

  • Work with the team to execute data quality improvement plans.

  • Participate in troubleshooting activities to ensure data integrity and process efficiency.


Qualifications:



  • Demonstrable experience with Talend Data Fabric in a professional environment.

  • Experience working for a health data organization performing ETL development activities.

  • Demonstrated experience leading database, data warehouse, ETL, business intelligence, or software development projects.

  • Experience in a lead role developing projects using Talend with Data Integration and Cloud Integration working with large datasets.

  • Highly familiar with Talend Data Fabric tool, ESB, and MDM development tasks and processes, particularly in creating ETL from technical specifications and converting ETL from other third-party ETL tools and frameworks.

  • Experience with cloud technologies (Azure/AWS) and Microsoft DevOps Git Repos.

  • Familiarity with Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server database technologies.

  • Ability to create/modify tables, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and other DB objects.

  • Ability to work independently in a hybrid work environment.

  • Working knowledge and understanding of HIPAA policies and experience working with PII and PHI sensitive data.

  • Effective at managing competing priorities and can work independently with little or no supervision.

  • Excellent communication skills: verbal and written, along with excellent documentation skills.

  • Comfortable working under tight deadlines while maintaining well-organized, detailed, and process-oriented work habits.
