Job Description

This position is at the NY Green Bank, a division of NYSERDA. NY Green Bank is a globally recognized sustainable investment fund. Its mission is to accelerate clean energy deployment in New York State in alignment with the Climate Act.

NY Green Bank collaborates with the private sector to transform financing markets. It also develops transaction structures and methodologies that overcome typical clean energy investment barriers and can serve as replicable models for other capital providers.

New York is leading the nation in the fight on global climate change and the transition to a clean energy-powered economy. The Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (Climate Act) has created the most aggressive climate change goals in the nation and requires an ambitious agenda that blends proven catalysts with innovative approaches while operating across a broader energy arena that is rapidly evolving. New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA) is a driving force in realizing this agenda. NYSERDA works with stakeholders that span residents, business owners, developers, community leaders, local government officials, universities, utilities, investors, entrepreneurs, and more, to develop, invest, and foster conditions that:

  • Attract the private sector capital investment needed to expand New York’s clean energy economy.
  • Overcome barriers to using clean energy at a large-scale in New York.
  • Enable New York’s communities and residents to benefit equitably from energy efficiency and renewable energy.

  • Develop in-depth understanding of a variety of financial offerings and draft press releases, Op Eds, executive remarks, interview materials and talking points, social media content, regulatory summaries, conference/event briefing materials and presentations, award applications, marketing collateral, etc. to support public and media relations efforts.
  • Develop and advance close working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders; help manage and implement creative marketing and communications strategies, plans, and approaches to market and position NYGB to external audiences, working with NYGB’s Business Development VP.
  • Manage NYGB email contact database and distribution lists, including working with NYSERDA Marketing team and CRM platform liaisons to develop and execute regular audience-appropriate email communications.
  • Assist NYGB leadership in creating and placing thought leadership pieces on LinkedIn and through social media channels; work closely with NYSERDA’s Social Media Manager to develop and execute NYGB messaging across social media platforms.
  • Work closely with NYSERDA’s Communications team in the development of media-related communications; and with NYSERDA’s Marketing and Events teams on an ongoing and regular basis.
  • Working with NYSERDA’s Marketing team, develop marketing plans including strategies, messaging, tactical implementation plans, schedule, and budgets for all assigned NYGB marketing.
  • Lead coordination implementing roadshow activities to raise awareness around NYGB’s recently launched Community Decarbonization Fund (“CDF”), and other NYGB-hosted industry gatherings.
  • Identify and make content development recommendations to effectively leverage NYSERDA.ny.gov and liaise with internal departments to ensure consistency of message on NYGB’s website.
  • Build networks within NYGB, and at NYSERDA and other New York State energy and environment agencies, to support financial communications priorities as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with NYSERDA’s Marketing and Communications teams to project manage blogs, insight briefs, research reports, events, email newsletters, website redesigns, and more.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
