Description: 
The Quality Technician is responsible for the performance of the material incoming inspection, line audit, finished goods inspection. The Quality Technician will also ensure the correct quality performance reports, that tools and equipment are safe to use, and that employees are trained and qualified. He/she will perform any other duty in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner. The Technician will perform a range of duties supporting managers, supervisors, and shift staff to ensure profitable business operations. 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of quality assurance inspectors, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Conducting regular inspections and audits of manufacturing process, raw material, finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standard, product specification and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and deliver training programs, ensure technicians/inspectors are trained and qualified prior to working on inspection equipment, process, and criteria.
  • Monitor and respond to daily inspection activities, maintain accurate quality records in computer system.
  • Monitor and analyze quality data to identify trends, develop report, and present findings to management.
  • Communicate results and issues to staff, communicate with other department such as Production, Maintenance to take immediate containment actions.
  • Assist in the troubleshooting of issues related to machine, material, process, and operators.
  • Ensure compliance with product quality and standards, follow work instruction and procedures, ensures production meets schedules and delivery requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain quality control equipment and tools, ensuring they are calibrated and functioning properly.
  • Comply with team goals and objectives and foster positive staff relationships.
  • Participate as part of the leadership team in setting objectives and creating strategies to achieve these.
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Canadian Solar Solution Code of Business Conduct
  • Support ISO 9001 activities and customer onsite inspection/audit
  • Adhere to all environmental, health and safety rules and policies.
 
Qualifications and Experience: 
  •  Minimum technical diploma education in engineering, manufacturing, quality management, or a related field. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Able to take continental shift.
  • Previous leadership experience in quality control or a related position within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality standards, and inspection methodologies, ability to read the drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in using measurement tools, testing equipment, and computer systems for quality control purposes.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and familiarity with ISO standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve quality issues effectively.
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Able to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency with MS Office, experience with enterprise ERP system or other software and e-mail would be an asset.
This position is also open to 2023 and 2024 university or college graduates, bilingual preferred (English, Spanish, Mandarin).
