Psyche Social Health Therapist
Responsibilities:
- Providing individual therapy to patients using various techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy
- Providing group therapy sessions and leading support groups for patients with similar issues
- Conducting assessments to determine a patient’s mental health needs, strengths, and challenges
- Consulting with other medical professionals regarding treatment plans and providing recommendations for changing treatment plans as needed
- Teaching stress management techniques and other coping mechanisms to patients
- Performing diagnostic evaluations to determine the nature of a patient’s problems and formulate a treatment plan
- Overseeing the patient’s progress towards treatment goals and making adjustments to treatment plans as needed
- Conducting psychological assessments, such as cognitive tests or personality assessments, to determine whether patients are capable of understanding their legal rights in court or whether they are competent to stand trial
- Communicating with other medical professionals regarding patient progress, risks of continuing treatment, or need for changes to treatment plans
Education:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Marriage and Family Counseling,
or other Behavioral Health related field.
Work Experience:
- Two (2) years of combined experience working with individuals with substance use and
mental health disorders
Licenses and certifications:
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) (preferred)
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) (preferred)
- AHA BLS
