We are currently seeking a highly organized and experienced Heavy Equipment Manager to oversee the daily operations of our equipment, inventory management, and equipment maintenance. The Heavy Equipment Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient utilization, maintenance, and readiness of our equipment, while also managing a team of subordinate staff. Responsibilities:


Equipment Operations and Maintenance:



  • Manages the scheduling, maintenance, repair, and utilization of equipment to ensure company standards.

  • Oversees all equipment maintenance operations and readiness to meet specific projects and organizational needs.

  • Leads and works closely with heavy equipment mechanics to track repairs and ensure adherence to established policies for inspections, maintenance, and repair of equipment.

  • Conducts analysis on equipment purchases versus renting equipment.

  • Tracks and reports equipment utilization, hour meters, mileage, and fuel by type and use per company and regulatory standards.

  • Manages work orders and invoice reconciliation.


Equipment Procurement and Management:



  • Authorizes and makes arrangements for procurement of parts, supplies, tools, and machinery.

  • Manages purchases, rentals, and lease options of new and used equipment and vehicles.

  • Assists COO with the final equipment budgets and potential equipment purchases to meet budgetary goals.

  • Ensures all licensing, permitting, registration, and titling of equipment and vehicles.

  • Safeguards locked key cabinets for all equipment, fleet, and spares.

  • Maintains inventory of equipment, tools, and supplies and establishes and monitors security procedures and protocols for the storage of inventory.


Regulatory Compliance and Safety:



  • Monitors equipment condition and ensures compliance with local, state, and federal rules/regulations.

  • Maintains Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and OSHA compliance.

  • Coordinate training sessions for new equipment with operators as needed.

  • Maintain a safe working environment through safety awareness training and pro-active employee involvement.


Insurance and Damage Assessment:



  • Monitors and confirms equipment insurance coordination, claims management, and support.

  • Investigates and evaluates the cause, extent, and financial impacts of damages to equipment and fleet due to failures and accidents.


Qualifications:



  • Minimum two (2) years of management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience (Required).

  • Minimum two (2) years of heavy civil construction & mechanical work. (Required).

  • Associate�s degree in construction management or related field (Preferred).

  • Experience and knowledge in heavy equipment and fleet vehicles (Required).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suites - Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and MAC Suites (Required).

  • Proficiency in HCSS or Adobe Acrobat (Preferred).

  • Proficiency in Equipment 360 (Preferred)

  • Offer of employment contingent upon passing a state/federal background check and pre-employment drug test.


The compensation will vary based on experience ranging between $100k-$130k annual salary.
