Greenskies is an industry leader in commercial and industrial solar and energy storage development in the U.S. with a diverse client base including Fortune 50 companies and investment-grade commercial off-takers, industrial and municipal clients. Greenskies is looking to expand its technical bid team with the addition of a Project Cost Estimator. The Estimator’s role will include but is not limited to the development of solar PV and energy storage project budgets. The Estimator will be part of the Analytics & Design Team (A&D) within the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) department. A&D directly supports the Business Development team and plays a critical role in development of all new systems proposals. The Estimator reports to A&D Manager. Greenskies is seeking an individual highly interested in the renewable energy industry, with the potential to grow into other roles in the future.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop cost estimates for renewable energy projects including solar PV and energy storage technologies
- Utilize historical data to modify budget templates, balancing quality and competitiveness
- Create rules and formulas to estimate costs based on project criteria
- Engage new vendors to quote upcoming projects
- Analyze and compare vendor quotes for competitiveness and scope
- Continually improve estimating process; expand on best practices and templates
- Review bid documents including building, electrical, and civil site plans
- Research and review building code and zoning requirements
- Work with municipalities and utilities to understand permitting and utility interconnection requirements
- Create scopes of work, assumptions, and limitations
- Coordinate with other departments such as Business Development, Procurement, Construction, and O&M to ensure bid accuracy
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in the commercial electrical or construction industry with at least 2 years of experience estimating project costs
- Four-year degree in related field or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience
- Proficient at reading plans, specs, and contracts
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to create detailed solutions to complex technical problems
- Prior solar, battery, utility, or civil experience a plus
