We use controlled-environment technology to mimic a multitude of conditions to allow plants, fungi and microorganisms to grow faster and better.


On Earth, we are pioneering biofarming at scale, boosting production of bioactive compounds and providing a sustainable and safe source of plant materials. In Space, we provide farming units to grow efficiently food for astronaut while accelerating plant research in microgravity.


THIS POSITION REQUIRES LOCATION FLEXIBILITY AND TRAVELLING BETWEEN LOS ANGELES - PARIS - CAP CANAVERAL SITES.


 


YOUR ROLE


We are looking to add a Chief of Staff to support CEO. This individual will sit at the intersection of the core business functions and will help on all aspects of Interstellar Lab’s operations.


As Chief of Staff you will play an important role oversee various aspects of managing the logistics of a CEO -  including presentations, interactions with partners, and scheduling - interacting closely with employees and filtering key information to ensure the company’s goals and initiatives are met.


A minimum of 10+ years of experience in front & back administration, business, finance, or executive management roles is required. You will support the CEO on development, business, admin, accounting, finance,  and HR needs.


RESPONSIBILITIES 



  • Serve as a trusted advisor, representative, and assistant to the CEO

  • Support CEO schedule, including scheduling meetings and planning travel

  • Provide department leaders support to improve teamwork across the organisation

  • Determine key performance indicators and how to measure team performance

  • Lead or partner on special projects driven by the CEO across all operational areas of the business

  • Drive content creation and agendas for critical internal and external purposes (investor presentations, Board materials, key client meetings)

  • Oversee legal tasks in collaboration with law firms and CEO

  • Support CEO in defining company policies and procedures

  • Support CEO in hiring staff and HR admin

  • Manage various, sometimes confidential administrative documents, including hiring documentation


Profile


  • BA/BS degree, MBA preferred

  • 10+ years experience in administration, business/finance or executive management role

  • Excellent analytical skills as well as oral and written skills to communicate complex issues in a concise, straightforward way

  • Ability to build and foster productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Strategic and structured thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset

  • Bias towards action


Management & Soft Skills


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French

  • Highly motivated to deliver against challenging objectives in a compressed timescale.

  • Willing and able to learn and apply new techniques and technologies.

  • Ability to manage unexpected events against tight timeframes.

  • Managing large workloads and tight time scales against project objectives.
