Avant Energy is seeking a Biological Process Manager to join our Hometown BioEnergy plant team in LeSueur, MN. This individual will have responsibility for the entire anaerobic digestion process at Hometown Bioenergy.
HOMETOWN BIOENERGY
Since commissioning in 2013, Hometown BioEnergy in Le Sueur, MN has generated biogas from various food production and processing waste products through the process of anaerobic digestion. The spent product from the plant also serves as an excellent fertilizer and is applied to local farmers’ fields. In 2024, Hometown BioEnergy began converting biogas to renewable natural gas.
PURPOSE
The anaerobic digestion process at Hometown BioEnergy is complex and must be managed with a strong understanding of biological systems. We seek an individual who is able to manage the inputs to the process and monitor the process. The objectives are to maintain stability in the system and meet biogas production goals. This individual will also need to be able to communicate clearly and work closely with senior management. This position is vital for the continued success of Hometown BioEnergy.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years’ experience in wastewater treatment plant or similar
- Associate’s or Bachelors degree related to wastewater treatment
- Experience with Anerobic digestion preferred
CRITICAL SKILLS NEEDED
- Understanding of biological processes
- General Laboratory practices
- Strong written and oral communication skills
