Description:

• Position of project manager and assistant to the General Secretary of the European Biomass Association – AEBIOM. You will report to the General Secretary of AEBIOM.

• Full-time equivalent job based in Brussels, starting in June 2006. One year contract with possibility for prolongation.

• Friendly working environment in the Renewable Energy House located at the heart of the EU institutions in Brussels.

• Job requiring autonomy, self-organisation, communication skills, fluent in English. Knowledge in bioenergy, EU institutions and project management are key advantages.


Tasks :

Networking

• Organise AEBIOM meetings
• Establish an efficient communication between AEBIOM members
• Coordinate the writing of position papers
• Follow up EREC (European Renewable Energy Council) activities

Project Management

• Manage two existing EU projects
• Submit new proposals to EU funding programmes

Communication

• Organise a monthly electronic newsletter
• Update the AEBIOM web site (www.aebiom.org)
• Manage the AEBIOM Biomass News (collection of articles, etc.)
• Organise presence of AEBIOM within some international conferences

Studies

• Conduct studies on identified topics

Requirements
Job requires autonomy, self-organisation, communication skills, fluent in English. Knowledge in bioenergy, EU institutions and project management are key advantages.

The European Biomass Association (AEBIOM) is an international non profit association established in 1990, aiming at promoting biomass production and application in Europe. It is a network of 27 national biomass associations in the following countries : Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria (2 members), Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany (2 members), Greece, Ireland, Italy (2 members), Latvia, Norway, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, The Netherlands, Ukraine. Each national association has members so that in total AEBIOM represents a network of mote than 4000 companies, organisations or individuals.
AEBIOM activities cover networking among its members, lobbying European bodies, information dissemination. AEBIOM also manages European projects (more details on web site).
