VeraSun Energy Names Timm Hoffman as Vice President of Information Technology

VeraSun Energy Corp. (NYSE: VSE), one of the nation’s largest ethanol producers, today announced that Timm Hoffman has been named the company’s Vice President of Information Technology. In his new role, Hoffman will be responsible for strategic planning, development, and execution of information technology infrastructure and initiatives. Hoffman joins VeraSun following a 12-year career with Gateway.
“Timm will fill a very important position for us at VeraSun Energy,” said Danny Herron, VeraSun’s president and chief financial officer. “The significant growth of our company over the past 12 months has created a unique opportunity for us to evaluate and implement new technology that will make us more efficient in our day-to-day business operations. We are excited to have someone with Timm’s experience leading our company in this area.”
Hoffman most recently served as the vice president, IT applications and infrastructure while at Gateway. He was responsible for the company’s back office applications, including two enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, a customer relationship management (CRM) system and a data warehouse. He was also responsible for the infrastructure environment that included network management, server management, Gateway’s two data centers, e-mail, the network operations center and the company’s help desk. Among his accomplishments, Hoffman implemented a new ERP system to manage Gateway’s retail business.
Hoffman began his career at Gateway in 1996 as the manager of IT applications before serving in his role of vice president. Prior to Gateway, he held IT positions with the Nebraska Public Power District, Black Hills Power and Light, and John Morrell and Co.
A native of Sioux Falls, S.D., Hoffman earned an Associate of Arts degree in data processing from Dakota State University. He later earned his Bachelor of Science degree in CIS and business from Minnesota State Mankato.
VeraSun Energy Corporation (NYSE: VSE), headquartered in Brookings, S.D., is a leading producer of renewable fuel.
