Advent Solar Appoints New President and CEO
Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States December 3, 2007

Advent Solar, Inc., a manufacturer of innovative solar cells and modules, announced today the hiring of Peter Green as the company's new President and CEO. Green joins Advent after 30 years in the semiconductor industry in Europe and the U.S. Most recently, he led the Integrated Power Group at ON Semiconductors in Phoenix, AZ.

Prior to ON Peter held various senior management roles during his 22 years at Intel Corp, including serving as the general manager of XScale microprocessors and Handheld Computing. At Intel he managed acquisitions and joint developments in addition to his GM roles and is well known for starting many new successful initiatives for the company in digital imaging and portable computing.

Prior to joining Intel he held sales and marketing roles with Texas Instruments in Europe and Houston, TX. Peter joined Texas Instruments from Plessey UK, where at the Allen Clark Research Center he was a scientist responsible for the design and implementation of missile guidance systems for the Ministry of Defense. Green has consistently demonstrated his skills in business strategy, competitive positioning, engineering management and execution to successfully complete corporate objectives.

Peter was educated in the U.K. and holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Physics and a Master of Science degree in Microwave and Telecommunication Theory. Green is enthusiastic about leading Advent Solar into the forefront of the photovoltaic industry. "I am excited to join the Advent Solar team, and look forward to working towards Advent’s goal of exceeding customer and shareholder expectations by providing the most advanced and cost-effective photovoltaic cells and modules."

Company founder Rusty Schmit will remain a member of the Board of Directors in an active role focused on strategic initiatives and will be working with Peter to ensure a smooth transition.
