Solar Integrated Announces Key Management Hire And Production Ramp

Solar Integrated Technologies, Inc. (AIM:SIT.LN), a leading provider of building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) roofing systems, announced today that it has hired Peter Douglas, BSME, as Director, Manufacturing. Mr. Douglas is responsible for implementing and driving sustained improvement of the Company’s production planning, quality, and manufacturing processes. Mr. Douglas has an extensive engineering and manufacturing management background, including most recently with DuPont from October 2002 to September 2007 where he was an Operations Manager and led the technical and operational design, set-up and implementation of liquid crystalline bonding lines in Torrance, California and Shenzhen, China.

“Peter will play an important role as we ramp up production for 2008 and as we look at our longer term production requirements,” stated Randall E. Jurisch, Vice President, Manufacturing at Solar Integrated.

Speaking about his appointment, Mr. Douglas said: “Solar Integrated is a recognised leader in the commercial BIPV market with a highly regarded ‘no compromise’ product. I am very excited to join the team and support the production execution capabilities as the Company moves into its next phase of growth and performance.”

The Company also announced that it has successfully ramped its manufacturing operation to a 24-hours-a-day, 5-days-a-week operation.

“This is a significant step up in manufacturing levels at Solar Integrated and a move that is indicative of the speed at which the business is growing,” commented R. Randall MacEwen, President & CEO of Solar Integrated. “We added a second shift to our Los Angeles-based manufacturing operation in May, and have now successfully added a third shift. We believe our current staffing level can accommodate the significant increase in production volume required to meet our expected 2008 sales.”
