Conergy Strengthens Management Team with international Corporate Know-How

Dr. Jörg Spiekerkötter replaces Heiko Piossek as CFO Philip von Schmeling appointed deputy member of the Management Board
Conergy AG announces that Dr. Jörg Spiekerkötter (49) will be the new CFO as of November 1st 2007. With Jörg Spiekerkötter, Conergy AG, a TecDax listed company, gains a renowned manager with over seven years experience in management as CFO of a globally active DAX-listed company. A qualified lawyer, he was member of the Board with responsibility for finance as well as IT, legal affairs and human resources at Schering AG. From November 1st he will also be responsible for these areas at Conergy AG in Hamburg. Most recently Spiekerkötter was the CFO of a Dutch company, ORGANON BioSciences.
"His predecessor, Heiko Piossek, contributed decisively to raising the company to an entirely new level within two years. He was responsible for far-reaching structural changes in the finance, IT and human resources departments in particular. This is why the company decided to bring Dr. Jörg Spiekerkötter on board, an experienced manager who fits this profile and has the potential for further growth," says Hans-Martin Rüter, Conergy AG's CEO and founder.
As well as the new CFO, the Supervisory Board has appointed Philip von Schmeling (39) as an deputy member of the Management Board. "With these management decisions, we are setting the course for the substantial, sustainable growth of our Conergy Group. We are delighted that we can now expand our Management Board with two executives with international experience, with the goal of becoming the global lead supplier for regenerative energy technology," Hans-Martin Rüter declares.
Up to now Philip von Schmeling was in charge of the GTT (Global Technology Team) PV-Modules. An internationally experienced manager, he is currently responsible for the expansion of Conergy's own fully automated factory in Frankfurt (Oder), which is going according to plan. In addition he is responsible for logistics world-wide and quality control for the solar modules that are vital to the Conergy Group's core business.
In order to achieve additional synergies from optimal teamwork across research, development and manufacturing of vital solar system components, he will also in future manage the whole product range in the photovoltaic sector, from module to inverter. Before he joined Conergy the Munich-born manager was already very internationally orientated. He gained his MBA at INSEAD in France, was with Boston Consulting for eight years and worked as a manager in the USA and Latin America for seven years. This, and his strong network of contacts throughout the Conergy Group, form the basis for the successful expansion of his area of responsibilities.
