Description:
Typical Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be a point person for SCE's knowledge base of the technical and cost attributes of various generation technologies including both fossil and renewable technologies. The senior project manager will be responsible for managing the participation in ongoing cycles of generation study updates, including look-backs at historical generation technology costs and forecasts of generation technology costs. This individual will organize and manage cross functional project teams composed of other project managers and technical specialists from other areas in the review, analysis, and reporting to senior management of generation opportunities (up to $500 million) and industry trends. The senior project manager will manage the development, preparation of testimony, and litigation of routine and special California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) applications and identify policy issues and recommendations for discussion with steering and policy teams comprised of Directors and senior Vice-Presidents. The position will manage the development and preparation of SCE's input and responses to regulatory agencies such as California Energy Commission (CEC) at workshops or conferences. In addition, the successful candidate will perform other responsibilities as required.

Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Economics, Business, Physical Sciences or related technical discipline.
Must have a minimum of seven years experience managing projects in the analysis, design, specification, procurement, construction, operation, maintenance or cost estimation of power generation projects.

Core Competencies:
- Demonstrated experience managing the engineering, construction, operation or maintenance of generation projects or managing contractors engaged in these activities.
- Demonstrated experience developing spreadsheet based cost and/or operations models for generation technologies and proposed generation projects.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct net present value analysis.
- Demonstrated experience with California Energy regulatory practices (e.g. CPUC, CEC, AQMD) including experience preparing testimony, responses to data requests and witnesses.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct internet research.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Powerpoint, Excel, and Word.
- Demonstrated experience in the preparation of presentation packages for executive and senior management.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple assignments and adjust to changing priorities.
- Demonstrated experience in the identification and resolution of complex issues often controversial in nature, which may or may not have established precedence.
- Demonstrated ability to make critical technical and business decisions with minimal direction.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to analyze, summarize and recommend ideas and concepts to senior management in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner.
- Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks and safety appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
- Must demonstrate effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and staying current with relevant technology and innovation.
- Must demonstrate ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.


COMMENTS: Additional testing may be required as part of the selection process for this position. Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship. The position will be based in Rosemead, but must be able to travel throughout the SCE Service Territory up to 25%. Ability to maintain a valid California driver's license.


Preferences:
Current knowledge of California transmission and generation energy infrastructure
P.E. License
Master's Degree in Engineering, Economics, Business, Physical Sciences or related technical discipline
Project Management Certification (e.g. PMP)
