Description:
A Leading Energy Solutions Provider is actively searching for a Project Engineer to work at our Saint Petersburg, FL office. The Project Engineer will gather and document energy performance information, perform detailed engineering assessments including baseline profiles, end-use and retrofit analysis, identify opportunities for conservation or efficiency and prepare energy savings. Extensive Nationwide Travel expected. Candidates must have Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in engineering and/or business related discipline and 5 years of relevant work experience in the evaluation and implementation of energy conservation projects with technical solutions at customer site locations. Professional Engineering (PE) registrations, Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and/or LEED accreditation preferred. Experience in working with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) preferred. The position requires you to pass a security clearance investigation, so U.S. Citizenship is required. The position offers a competitive salary, and benefits package. Requirements
Job Functions

• Conducts energy audits and prepares written proposals identified potential energy conservation upgrades, including detailed analyses of costs and savings.
• Develops preliminary design and estimate of cost and energy savings opportunities for projects involving a variety of energy conservation measures at customer’s facilities, by providing technical expertise and implementation recommendations to the customer.
• Supports sales team in developing and presenting proposals and contracts to customers for energy conservation projects.
• Implements company project control processes to commence projects in accordance with established cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Provides periodic status reports to management on project status, update, and/or performance.
• Coordinates project turnover with Project Management.
• Demonstrates leadership in the area of safety. This requires observing and enforcing safety rules and practices, encouraging safe work behaviors, and promptly correcting conditions and unsafe behaviors, which may lead to accidents.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

• Requires substantial time at various project locations.
• Requires frequent (up to 40%) overnight travel to customer facilities, may include auto, air, and/or rail travel.
• Move autonomously, walking and standing for long periods, hearing, seeing, reading, and writing.
• Lift tools and equipment: able to lift and load testing equipment as necessary during field audits.
• Work independently and with people, speak in front of groups and with individuals, customers, management, engineers, subcontractors, manufacturers, homeowners, residents, and suppliers, etc.
• Work both indoors and outdoors, in hot or cold conditions, and around construction project sites.

Technical/Job Skill Qualifications – The candidate must meet the following minimum qualifications and have demonstrated the following technical or job skills.

• Knowledge and demonstrated ability to develop complex energy conservation savings projects.
• Detailed knowledge of heating, ventilating, air conditioning (HVAC), electrical systems, and process related systems in residential, commercial, and governmental buildings.
• Detailed knowledge and experience developing energy conservation projects involving renewable energy technologies.
• Working knowledge of methods used to finance various types of projects.
• Knowledge and experience in the development of customer proposals, vendor agreements, and subcontractor contracts.
• Experience in customer presentations, including excellent writing skills.
• Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency on the use of computer-based applications including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and project database applications.
• Ability to work in a diverse environment (internal/external).
• Effective leadership skills.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• May be subject to government security investigation.
• Must meet eligibility requirements for access to government facilities.

Education/Experience:
